Parties and celebrations

Even in the 1700’s, the Green Man was a notoriously popular place for celebration. The famous Dick Turpin would stash his guns in the upstairs room after a duel on the Heath followed by celebratory refreshments for the winners. 

The pub has since then changed in its decor and layout but still remains the best place to celebrate in Putney. 

Whilst you may not be celebrating a duel, our lovely pub has cosy corners and bright open spaces to suit any occasion from birthday parties, after work drinks, a celebration of life, garden parties or just a catch up with old friends.

Such a great local pub! I’ve been in a big group to celebrate a friend’s birthday and popped in with just a friend’s and the staff are equally accommodating and friendly every time I’ve come. Lots of space and seating, lovely atmosphere and the food is great. Definitely recommend! – Youssra M

Great for big groups

Would absolutely recommend. Venue hired for a wake. From the moment of contacting The Green Man to the end, every single member of staff was friendly and extremely helpful. Food was good quality and delicious. The only minor request for future bookings, is that vegan burgers be labelled before setting out.

FAQs

Are you dog friendly?

Yes! We love dogs as much as we like people. Please ask a member of the team for a bowl of water, treats, a doggy ice cream and our newly introduced, Kingston dog walking map.

When would I need to pay a deposit?

We very rarely require a deposit, but if we do, it may be because you have pre ordered food, have a larger booking, or are booking a space during a busy period. If we do take a deposit from you, this can be refunded on the day of your booking once you have arrived or can be taken off of your final bill.

What is a Pre authorisation?

Again, this is something we use very rarely unless it is a busy period or our tables are in high demand! A pre authorisation does not take any money from your card, unless you fail to show up for your booking or you cancel with less than 24 hours notice.

Do you have a car park?

No. However, there is parking along the common.
