Even back in the 1700s, our lovely pub was the go-to for a proper knees-up. Legend has it that the infamous Dick Turpin (yes, him) used to stash his pistols upstairs after a duel on the Heath before toasting the victor with a round of celebratory tipples (as you do).
While the décor’s had a bit of a glow-up since then – think leafy garden views, cosy nooks and light-filled spaces – it’s still Putney’s top-tier, party-perfect pub for all things celebratory.
You might not be fresh from a duel, but whether you’re marking a big birthday, raising a glass after work, toasting someone special (or simply gathering your nearest and dearest for a long-overdue catch-up), we’ve got cosy-cornered, garden-backed, chatter-filled spaces to suit any occasion (and yes, plenty of cold fizz too).
Let’s make your next get-together the kind of memory-making, prosecco-clinking bash the Green Man’s been known for for centuries.
